Alexa Toolbar For Firefox 57 (Quantum)

When you upgrade or install Firefox 57 (Quantum) you might find that your Alexa Toolbar no longer works when you click on the Alexa icon.

In order to restore the toolbar functionality in Firefox, you will first need to check your browser's Tracking Protection and History options. To do that, please go to your Preferences and select the Privacy page.

There are three ways to update your privacy settings to enable the toolbar again:

  • If you have "Tracking Protection" set to Always and "History" set to Remember History
    1. In the "Tracking Protection" section, select the Never radio button.
    2. Restart Firefox
  • If you have "Tracking Protection" set to Only in private windows and "History" set to Never remember history
    1. In the "History" section, select Remember history.
    2. Restart Firefox.
  • If you have "Tracking Protection" set to Only in private windows and "History" set to Never remember history, but do not want to set your browser to always Remember history
    1. In the History section, select Use custom settings for history.
    2. Uncheck the first Always use private browsing mode option.
    3. Restart Firefox.
    4. Go back to the about:preferences#privacy page in Firefox.
    5. In the "History" section, uncheck Remember my browsing and download history and Remember search and form history.

If you are still unable to load the toolbar in Firefox 57 after reviewing the information above, please submit a request.
