California Consumer Privacy Act Disclosures

This California Consumer Privacy Act disclosure page (“Disclosure”) supplements the Alexa Internet Privacy Notice. The Alexa Internet Privacy Notice describes the personal information that we collect, the sources from which we collect it, the purposes for which we use it, the limited circumstances under which we share personal information, and with whom we share it.

The following additional disclosures are provided pursuant to the California Consumer Privacy Act (the “CCPA”).

  1. Categories of personal information collected. The personal information that Alexa Internet, Inc. (“Alexa Internet”) collects, or has collected from consumers in the twelve months prior to the effective date of this Disclosure, falls into the following categories established by the CCPA, depending on which Alexa service is used:
    • identifiers such as your name, alias, email address, billing address, or IP address;
    • personal information, such as a credit card number;
    • commercial information, such as subscription history;
    • Internet or other electronic network activity information, including content interaction information, such as content downloads and website activity;
    • audio or visual information, for example a video that may be included in a public Twitter post;
    • professional information, for example data you may provide about your business when you sign up for an Alexa Internet account; and
    • inference data, such as information about your interest in Alexa Internet content or services.
  1. Categories of personal information disclosed for a business purpose. The personal information that Alexa Internet disclosed about consumers for a business purpose in the twelve months prior to the effective date of this Disclosure falls into the following categories established by the CCPA, depending on which Alexa service is used:
    • identifiers such as your name, email address, billing address, or IP address, for example if a third-party service provider is assisting us with providing customer service to you;
    • personal information, such as a credit card number, for example if we use a third-party payment processor;
    • commercial information, such as the details of a service you purchased if a third-party service provider is assisting us to provide that service to you;
    • internet or other electronic network activity information, such as if we use a service provider to help us measure user engagement with Alexa Internet content or services;
    • audio or visual information, for example if a video is included in a public Twitter post that is embedded on our site; and
    • professional information, for example if you choose to provide such information in a survey facilitated by a third-party service provider.
  1. Right to Request Access to or Deletion of Personal Information: You may have the right under the CCPA to request information about the collection of your personal information by Alexa Internet, or access to or deletion of your personal information. If you wish to do any of these things, please visit here or contact Customer Support.  Depending on your data choices, certain services may be limited or unavailable.
  2. No sale of personal information. In the twelve months prior to the effective date of this Disclosure, Alexa Internet has not sold any personal information of consumers, as those terms are defined under the CCPA.
  3. No Discrimination. Alexa Internet will not discriminate against any consumer for exercising their rights under the CCPA.
